I watched this earlier, good movie but best movie of 2007..no way

Story - 6:10
Acting - 6:10
Gore - 8:10

Brainless entertainment but it was a fairly blatant rip of Gadiator in most parts.

Worth the £1 I paid for it.

just saw this last night -- very entertaining (cerbral, no).

Definitely some aspects of it reminded me of GW. Man, I wish GW had gore and dismemberment.

Some parts of it were just like GW, played with Max Payne bullet time

edit: for the ppl on page 4 who say Xerxes is a Rit and Leonidas is a Paragon, well put! Totally on the mark

that traitor guy, I swear is EXACTLY like an afflicted warrior

During the whole movie they used the Phalanx formation only once... Definatly not a movie to go watch for your ancient-Greek-military-history class in hopes of not having to study.

Thats why i said fairly. Yes that is not a movie to go watch if you are trying to study for your History class, but if you refer to a previous post you will see that the movie is a story being told about it so they have exaggerations in it.

Seriously hope not, most sequels suck. Only Godfather 2 and a few select others were worthy sequels.

I loved how during the first few rounds of fighting, up until the creepy dudes in the masks, not one spartan was killed. They just destroyed them. And in response to this:

The first fight showed EXACTLY what Phalanxes do. If they had done it more it would have gotten boring because they would have completely owned averyone. Leonidas also explained pretty well what a Phalanx does to the betrayer guy. I thought they used the Phalanx again for the Mask guys?

Favorite Part: At the end when the narrator tells why Leonidas took off his helmet and threw his shield to the ground. I liked how they had the spear just graze Xerxes instead of killing him to go along with what Leonidas said when they first met about how by the end of this battle I will prove that a God-King can bleed. They could have just had him kill Xerxes but the effect was a lot better doing it the way they did.

Least Favorite Part: Banana Hammocks

Default 300 Video Game

This just in... at least in this morning's Daily Variety... but apparently word first got out yesterday in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, and in googling for more news I've found that GameDaily Biz had an article out on it yesterday as well (http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=15587).

Warner Bros already has a "300" vidgame for PSP, but after the pic's huge success with the young male gamer demographic may do a second one with Brash for XBox 360, PS3 or PC. Rumor has it that Thomas Tull, exec producer on the film, has teamed w/ Atlanta financier, Bert Ellis, and is raising $150m, to start the new venture (Brash).

Quote:
"Brash. which would most likely work entirely with independent developers, would be the only major publisher to operate entirely with private money. All big American game publishers are public companies.

Brash is expected to close its initial funding and announce more details in the next few weeks, including how many games it will make." Daily Variety 3/27/07

When I was watching the bit when they stacked the bodies up, I wished I still had this song on my phone so I could play it out loud for a laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYZhUhlqPok

Since when are movie games good?

Just stay away from them, most of it is crap which just wants to cash in on the films success. (albeit with a few exceptions, but you'd probably have heard something about it before you buy it)

I just watched it on tv-links a few minutes ago......I'd have to say it was one of the stupidest movies I've seen in a long time........but it was pretty damn cool.

Good things:
No shaky camera during fight scenes.
Slow-motion worked very well and wasn't overused.
David Wenham did very well as the narrator. Very well.
300 Spartans taking out all of the Persian Cavalry. That looked insane.

Bad things:
That goat playing the flute and the woman in Xerxes' harem without arms???
